Buyer II - Electronics Manufacturing
Location: Westborough, MA (100% Onsite)
Salary: $68,000-$75,000
Schedule: Full-Time | 1st Shift
U.S. Citizenship required due to ITAR/CUI regulations.
About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Buyer II to join their Supply Chain team in Westborough, MA . This position supports high-reliability manufacturing programs serving the aerospace, defense, medical, and industrial markets. We're looking for a buyer with experience managing both New Product Introduction (NPI) and production purchasing , particularly for electronic components .
In this role, you'll collaborate with Program Management, Planning, Production, Receiving, and suppliers to ensure materials are available to meet production schedules while driving cost savings, supplier performance, and inventory optimization.

What You'll Do
  • Manage purchasing activities for assigned commodities and production programs.
  • Support both New Product Introduction (NPI) and ongoing production purchasing.
  • Generate, monitor, and maintain purchase orders within the ERP/MRP system.
  • Review Material Action Reports (MAR) and execute required actions.
  • Analyze MRP demand and manage pull-ins, push-outs, cancellations, and schedule changes.
  • Obtain supplier quotations and validate pricing.
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules.
  • Partner with Program Management to resolve PPVs and material issues.
  • Coordinate with Planning and suppliers to develop recovery plans for shortages.
  • Perform cost analysis and identify opportunities for savings.
  • Build strong supplier relationships to ensure quality and on-time delivery.
  • Provide regular material status updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in daily operations meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 13485, ITAR, EAR, and DoD requirements.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong production purchasing experience.
  • Electronic component purchasing experience is required.
  • Experience supporting both NPI and production environments.
  • Quoting and supplier negotiation experience.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems (Epicor, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred
  • Aerospace or Defense manufacturing experience.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 quality systems.
  • Familiarity with ITAR, EAR, and DoD regulations.
  • Microsoft Teams experience.
