About the Role:
We are looking for a senior, hands-on Business Process Engineer to help build and implement a Product Operating Model for a large financial services organization.

This is not a Strategy or Advisory Consulting role. We are specifically looking for someone who can roll up their sleeves and build the processes lead stakeholder working sessions, ask the right questions, understand how work actually flows across business and technology teams, and turn those conversations into clear, detailed, usable process maps, workflows, decision trees, RACIs, governance models, playbooks, and operating procedures.

The ideal candidate can walk into a room where stakeholders have different views of how a process should work, facilitate the discussion, challenge assumptions, establish clarity, document decisions, and then personally build the future-state process in Visio or a similar tool. This person must be comfortable working in an environment where the Product Operating Model is still evolving and where processes will need to be tested, refined, and continuously improved.

What You’ll Do:
• Lead working sessions with business and technology stakeholders to understand current-state and future-state processes.
• Ask probing questions to uncover how work actually moves through the organization, including:
o Decision points
o Decision rights
o Ownership
o Handoffs
o Dependencies
o Exceptions
o Controls
o Pain points
• Translate stakeholder conversations into detailed, end-to-end process maps and workflows.
• Personally build and maintain process documentation using Visio, Lucidchart, Miro, PowerPoint, or similar tools.
• Develop:
o Process maps
o Swimlane diagrams
o Decision trees
o Workflow diagrams
o RACIs
o Operating procedures
o Governance models
o Decision frameworks
o Playbooks and standards
• Clearly define roles, responsibilities, decision rights, inputs, outputs, controls, ownership, and handoffs within processes.
• Partner across Product, Portfolio, Technology, Finance, Risk, Operations, and other functions to ensure processes work across organizational boundaries.
• Identify gaps, overlaps, unclear ownership, dependencies, and process breakdowns and help stakeholders develop practical solutions.
• Facilitate conversations when stakeholders have different interpretations or perspectives on how work should operate.
• Turn ambiguous discussions into clear, practical future-state processes.
• Iterate and refine process designs based on stakeholder feedback, testing, lessons learned, and the ongoing maturity of the Product Operating Model.
• Help establish a consistent set of process standards, playbooks, and reusable operating artifacts.

• Product and portfolio planning

• Epic/work flow through persistent product teams
• Risk, compliance, and control integration
• Roles and decision rights
• Product/team lifecycle processes

What They’re Really Looking For:
The ideal candidate is a Facilitator + Process Designer + Process Builder all three are required.

They need someone who can:
Facilitate Understand Challenge Design Build Document Iterate

You should be comfortable leading a meeting with business and technology leaders, asking difficult or clarifying questions, resolving conflicting viewpoints, and then opening Visio and actually building the process flow yourself.

This is not the right role for someone whose primary experience is:
• Teaching Lean or Six Sigma
• Teaching Value Stream Mapping
• Providing high-level recommendations
• Developing executive strategy presentations
• Performing advisory/strategy consulting without hands-on process development

Required Experience:
• Strong experience as a Business Process Engineer, specifically designing and documenting end-to-end business and technology processes.
• Demonstrated experience building or supporting a Product Operating Model, Agile/Product Transformation, Portfolio Management, or Enterprise Operating Model.
• Proven experience working across both business and technology organizations.
• Strong facilitation skills with the ability to lead working sessions involving multiple stakeholders and SMEs.
• Ability to uncover decision points, decision rights, ownership, handoffs, dependencies, exceptions, and governance requirements.
• Advanced hands-on experience creating detailed:
o Process maps
o Swimlanes
o Decision trees
o Workflows
o RACIs
o Operating procedures
• Strong experience with Visio or similar process-mapping tools such as Lucidchart, Miro, etc.
• Experience developing playbooks, standards, governance models, RACIs, decision frameworks, and process documentation.
• Comfortable working with Product Managers, Product Owners, Technology Leads, Agile/Scrum teams, Portfolio Management, governance teams, business leaders, and SMEs.
• Comfortable working in an environment where processes and the operating model are still being developed and continuously evolving.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to challenge thinking while keeping conversations productive.
