π Hybrid Schedule:
The selected candidate will work onsite more frequently during the first few weeks for training and onboarding. After the initial training period, the position will transition to approximately 1β2 days onsite per week.
πΉ Position Overview
The Business Operations Analyst will support the Office of Data and Analytics (ODA) by contributing to organizational strategies that improve team efficiency and productivity. The role will support data quality, data governance, financial tracking, KPI monitoring, strategic planning, and relationship management across client locations
πΉ Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end data mapping across assigned data sources and reporting layers.
- Document business definitions, transformation logic, and data lineage.
- Collaborate with data owners and stewards to resolve data-definition conflicts.
- Identify workflow issues and recommend effective solutions.
- Implement data quality rules, track exceptions, and monitor remediation activities.
- Maintain metadata and business glossary entries within the data catalog.
- Develop SOPs for change control and the data-mapping lifecycle.
- Prepare status reports, governance scorecards, and operational updates.
- Assist with developing training materials and provide training to team members.
- Track and audit purchase order expenditures and identify financial variances.
- Review and audit financial data to ensure accuracy and support operational planning.
- Incorporate budgetary considerations into workflow recommendations and operational decisions.
- Support KPI tracking and agency strategic planning initiatives.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform additional ODA project responsibilities as assigned.
πΉ Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Business, Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3β5+ years of directly applicable experience in business operations and/or data analytics.
- Strong analytical, conceptual, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Solid financial literacy, including understanding of budgets, cost drivers, purchase orders, and financial reports.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience using data visualization tools to create compelling visualizations.
- Broad knowledge of business operations best practices and standards.
- Ability to manage multiple, changing priorities in a team environment.
- Strong relationship-management and stakeholder-engagement skills.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and work ethic.
- Ability to identify root causes and make sound, timely decisions.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills.
- Ability to receive constructive feedback and adjust approaches accordingly.
πΉ Preferred / Highly Desired Experience
- 2+ years of experience with data lineage tools and methodologies.
- 3+ years of experience understanding and applying the data analysis lifecycle in a business environment.
- Experience with data catalogs, metadata management, data governance, and data quality processes.
- Experience with financial analysis, operational reporting, and KPI tracking.
