Responsibilities
- Review fact patterns and provide accurate analysis and recommendations.
- Analyze legal issues effectively and accurately.
- Second chair complex cases or first chair simpler cases.
- Assist lead trial attorneys in pre-trial issues and proceedings.
- Prepare complex pre-trial motions.
- Evaluate and implement pre-trial and witness preparation.
- Handle pre-trial motions in Federal and State courts.
- Manage small cases independently with minimal supervision.
- Handle modestly complex commercial cases independently.
- Prepare motions for summary judgment.
- Prepare deponents effectively.
- Take complex deposition testimony.
- Demonstrate experience in various substantive areas of law.
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate with excellent academic credentials.
- Licensed to practice law and in good standing in California.
- Familiarity with federal and state court procedural rules and practices.
- Ability to prepare basic litigation documents.
- Case management experience.
- Clear and effective drafting skills.
- Strong negotiating skills.
- Ability to learn new substantive legal topics as needed.
- Provide effective and reliable legal services to clients and supervising attorneys.
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong organization and matter management skills.
- Work effectively with others as part of a team.
