nREPORTS TO: Vice President of Commercial Lending
nSUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
nProvide information on credit union products and services to current and potential business members according to all credit union policies and procedures and federal rules and regulations. Support the VP of Commercial Lending in development of the business loan portfolio. Prepare, assess, process and document all required forms and related communication.

nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

nGather background information on members applying for business loans by reviewing applicants and obtaining all necessary information.
nInterview members requesting refinancing or rewrites of existing business loans.
nAssist members with the loan application process in person, on the phone or electronically to ensure completeness of information.
nPull credit reports for all accounts, verify debt, estimate monthly payments for any outstanding debts not listed and add them to debts on the application.
nCalculate debt-to-income ratios on loan applications and calculate how much of the applicant’s debt is secured or unsecured.
nEnsure that sound analysis and lending procedures are followed. Act in compliance with Business Loan Policy always.
nEvaluate the information provided by the business owner.
nGenerate offer letters or decline notices as decisions are made on applications.
nExplain reasons for denial and explore options for members when business loans are denied.
nVerify the accuracy of business loan amounts and repayment terms on approved loan applications. Complete loan documents and disburse loans when approved.
nAnswer questions related to business loans.
nResponsible for assisting the Vice President of Commercial Lending in collection efforts on business accounts.
nMaintain and understand compliance to ensure that work complies with the credit unions established policies, procedures and applicable regulations.
nMaintain and understand compliance to ensure that work complies with the credit unions established policies, procedures and applicable regulations, to include Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Member Identification Program (MIP), and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC).
nPerforms other duties assigned or required in connection with the general operation of the credit union.
nREQUIREMENTS:
nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.
nAbility to analyze, interpret and communicate orally and in writing (prepare a credit memorandum) the financial status of the balance and income statements, Cash Flow Statements for all types of businesses including business applicants to determine their potential borrowing capacity
nExtensive knowledge of business laws as well as commercial laws and regulations related to commercial lending.
nKnowledge of the methods for appraising all types of collateral.
nGood organizational and professional communication skills, both written and oral.
nGood oral and written communication skills and must be detail oriented.
nEDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
nBachelor’s degree or equivalent with a minimum of two years of commercial lending experience.

nPrimarily in-door office work with quiet to moderate noise levels.
nOccasional work outside the office.
nOccasional travel for business-related functions.
nOccasional evening and weekend schedules may be required.
nPOSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
nThis is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and occasional Saturdays may be required; May also require occasional travel for training as needed. Hours may change without notice.
nPHYSICAL DEMANDS
nRequires sitting most of the day, lifting up to 35 pounds, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling and reaching above shoulder level occasionally, reaching below shoulder level frequently, twisting continuously.
