Business Intelligence DeveloperThe Business Intelligence Developer will be responsible for analyzing business problems and designing analytical reports using data from various data sources to provide insights to decision makers. This position will report to Digital product manager and will work with enterprise teams to deliver analytic solutions.The job function includes data collection and analysis; development, validation, application, and refinement of statistical models; application of related digital technologies in processing both the inputs and outputs from the models.Challenges include meeting expectations in delivering results, learning to refine solutions to better fit complex situations, making timely decisions, and communicating effectively with all project stakeholders.Working directly with business partners to understand their information needs and create reporting solutions that ultimately help drive business decisions.Matching and developing the correct reporting technology such as Power BI.Working with other application support groups on the integration and rationalization of disparate data sources.Prototyping, developing, and testing of reporting solutions produced.Designing and implementing processes, standards, or improvements, to aid in development and support.A typical day includes working with business partners to understand business requirements and translate them into functional specifications for reporting applications.Utilize programming languages like SAS, Snow SQL to prepare data using ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) framework for building reports.Build automated reports using Power BI.Implement Row-level security (RLS) and write DAX expressions suitable for reporting needs.Prototype, develop, iterate, test, and deploy reports into production.Present project status and insights to Senior leaders and advisors.Technical skills required include expert level Power BI, SQL and coding skills to perform ETL functions using industry standard coding language, Snowflake experience, and MS Office Toolsuite.Soft skills required include strong communication and collaboration skills, strong project management skills, strong experience delivering high quality work, and demonstrated decisions on routine, limited risk issues.
