Business Intelligence DeveloperEmployer: HCL Global Systems Inc.Job Duties:Design, develop and support Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and then implement ETL processes to move and transform data for Operational Data Store (ODS) and, staging and data warehousing purposes. Creates and maintains ETL specifications and process documentation to produce the required data deliverables (data profiling, ETL flows etc.). Configures and tunes ETL infrastructure to optimize the data warehousing architecture. Designs, implements and maintains a reporting, monitoring and dashboard framework Develops aggregation, monitoring and alerting tools/modules. Investigates new technologies and advances, especially in the areas of business intelligence. Complete SDLC validation deliverables and testing for validated IT systems. Follow appropriate SDLC, quality validation processes and application processes, increase efficiency and effectiveness of ETL processes by organizing sessions, monitoring load times, and rearranging processes.
Using Transact SQL (T-SQL), create complex stored procedures and triggers to handle online and batch database requests. Create SSIS packages to extract and transform data from different sources and load to destinations (using SQL Server Integration Services). Investigates new technologies and advances, especially in the areas of business intelligence.Interacting with business users to analyze the business process and transforming requirements into OBIEE reports and dashboards. Analyze complete business requirement, developing block diagrams and logical flow charts, and translating detailed design into OBIEE application. Participate in ETL design for star schema modelling. Develop metadata model for OBIEE repository. Implementing Opaque views wherever necessary.
Implementing dimensional hierarchies. Design and develop logical data model in BMM layer. Configure object level and data level security within OBIEE. Configure Linux servers with required prerequisites like Java (JDK), Apache Tom Cat and get the required ports opened. Create appropriate database indexes wherever applicable. Create complex testing procedures in agile development environment. Write SQL queries to compare the data against reports data for testing.
Support the application for any issues while QA testing and initial Production support. Create documents wherever required to explain the functionality and logic behind the reports. Create user guides and manuals for running reports and dashboards. Train users on ad-hoc reporting using different subject areas.Work Location: Various unanticipated work locations throughout the United States; relocation may be required.
