Position Description: The Business Development Manager is responsible for cultivating long-term customer relationships and contributing to the organization's success and revenue growth. This role involves selling anti-aging topical products in the physician marketplace, increasing market share through prospecting, relationship building, post-sales implementation, and account maintenance. The incumbent must exceed sales quotas by focusing on revenue growth and customer satisfaction while ensuring increased profitability. The Business Development Manager adopts a total account management approach, leveraging resources and collaborating effectively. This position supports the South Chicago territory, and the candidate must reside within this territory.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Achieve and exceed territory sales objectives and goals.
- Build strong professional relationships, establish credibility, and rapport with customers.
- Gather data on prospective customers from various sources such as directories, trade shows, and online resources for sales leads.
- Maintain accurate and current customer data, including practice demographics, staff, call, and sales history.
- Develop extensive product knowledge through reading, analyzing clinical articles, promotional materials, and attending training sessions.
- Implement key product branding strategies throughout the sales process using company materials.
- Develop and coordinate physician/practice training and education programs.
- Manage territory sample inventory according to company guidelines.
- Plan, prioritize, monitor, and track all sales activities.
- Participate in scheduled sales meetings, conference calls, and other business meetings.
- Conduct business with honesty and integrity, supporting company principles.
- Follow all company protocols, compliance policies, and quality systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned based on market conditions.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of proven sales experience in a quota-driven role.
- Track record of meeting/exceeding sales objectives using a disciplined Value-Based and Consultative Sales Process. Experience in dermatology, medical devices, or specialty pharmaceuticals is preferred.
- Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and meet customer expectations consistently.
- Strong business acumen and understanding of market opportunities.
- Willingness to travel 60% of the time.
- Maturity, integrity, and honesty are essential.
