JOB DESCRIPTION

The Business Development Director, Cybersecurity leads business development strategy and execution for cybersecurity services, driving market penetration, identifying target clients, and advancing qualified opportunities. Collaborates with Practice Leaders, industry experts, principals, and client service professionals to create and implement cybersecurity‑focused growth plans aligned with firm strategy.

The role builds relationships with key decision‑makers, supports pursuit strategy, strengthens pipeline visibility, and promotes coordinated go‑to‑market efforts across cybersecurity offerings. It also provides market insight, sales enablement, and business development best practices to support revenue growth, brand positioning, and expansion of cybersecurity services.

JOB DUTIES

  • Develop and execute cybersecurity business development plans in conjunction with Practice Leaders, industry leaders, principals, and direct supervisors.
  • Segment target markets, accounts, and buyer profiles for cybersecurity services in alignment with business line and industry strategy.
  • Identify priority markets and growth opportunities to drive qualified pipeline.
  • Collaborate with principals on all cybersecurity business development plans, pursuits, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Facilitate quarterly meetings with Practice Leaders to design, implement, and report on cybersecurity business development plans.
  • Generate opportunities with targeted prospects through approved lead generation activities such as outbound calling, email campaigns, webinars, seminars, business community outreach, networking, sponsorships, referral development, and other demand generation programs.
  • Monitor and report on the results of cyber lead generation programs.
  • Leverage national marketing and sales programs, approved processes, messaging standards, proposal templates, pipeline reporting requirements, and campaign guidelines.
  • Qualify cybersecurity opportunities and build relationships with key executives and stakeholders, including CISOs, CIOs, CROs, compliance leaders, technology leaders, and procurement leaders.
  • Participate in sales and proposal processes, including developing and managing pursuit strategy, planning for and attending pursuit meetings, and providing proposal and presentation strategy and support.
  • Coordinate with alliance firms, referral channels, and international firms on cybersecurity opportunities.
  • Facilitate monthly sales pipeline meetings with Practice Leaders and principals who have active cybersecurity sales opportunities.
  • Develop and execute cybersecurity go‑to‑market strategies and collaborate with client service professionals to support sales success.
  • Contribute cybersecurity business development thought leadership, tools, competitive intelligence, and resources to the national Business Development Services community.
  • Facilitate annual principal business development meetings related to cybersecurity growth strategy and sales priorities.
  • Promote use of CRM as an integral part of the business development process by demonstrating accurate and timely pipeline, activity, and opportunity management.
  • Implement and maintain industry group programs and market initiatives that support cybersecurity services growth.
  • Participate in Premier account management programs as defined by the business development plan.
  • Complete all reporting requirements on new sales, pipeline activity, sales call statistics, campaign results, and CRM maintenance.
  • Discuss staffing recommendations, including new hires and terminations, with direct supervisor, Practice Leaders, and National Business Development Services.
  • Achieve annual revenue goals for cybersecurity services.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise business development support professionals, where applicable, in collaboration with direct supervisor and Practice Leaders to perform growth support activities outlined in the cybersecurity business development plan.
  • Track performance of business development support professionals and report progress to Practice Leaders and direct supervisor on a quarterly basis, if applicable.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for business development support professionals with input from direct supervisor, Practice Leaders, and National Business Development Services, if applicable.
  • Develop performance goals for each business development support professional with input from the business development support professional, direct supervisor, and Practice Leaders, if applicable.
  • Serve as a coach and mentor supporting the career development of business development support professionals, if applicable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, required.
  • Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or Finance, preferred.

Experience:

  • Eight (8) or more years of business development, sales, account management, or market development experience, required.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience supporting or selling cybersecurity services, required.
  • Experience developing and executing strategic go‑to‑market plans, required.
  • Experience managing sales pipeline, lead generation activity, and CRM reporting, required.
  • Experience working with executive‑level stakeholders in technology, risk, compliance, or security functions, preferred.
  • Experience within accounting, consulting, advisory, or professional services environment, preferred.
  • Experience leading or supervising business development support staff, preferred.

Software:

  • Microsoft Office Suite, required.
  • Customer relationship management software such as Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics, required.
  • Pipeline and reporting tools, required.

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity service areas, including cyber risk, governance, security strategy, regulatory compliance, incident response, identity and access management, cloud security, data protection, and managed security services, required.
  • Ability to communicate cybersecurity value propositions to executive and non‑technical buyers, required.
  • Ability to identify client needs and align cybersecurity solutions to business risk, regulatory requirements, and operational priorities, required.
  • Strong relationship‑building and executive presence skills, required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, required.
  • Strong proposal strategy, presentation support, and pursuit coordination skills, required.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment, required.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret pipeline trends, campaign performance, and market activity, required.
  • Ability to collaborate across service lines, offices, and leadership teams, required.
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and discipline in CRM reporting and sales activity tracking, required.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity market trends, threat landscape drivers, and buyer priorities, preferred.
  • Ability to travel based on business need.

COMPENSATION

National Range: $150,000 – $180,000. Maryland: $150,000 – $180,000. NYC/Long Island/Westchester: $150,000 – $180,000.
