The Business Continuity Program Manager will lead and mature our global business continuity program within a regulated manufacturing environment. This role ensures the program effectively enables manufacturing operations and critical business functions to withstand and recover from disruptions while meeting regulatory requirements, maintaining product supply, and fulfilling customer commitments.
The Manager partners closely with manufacturing sites, operations leadership, and other critical functions to embed continuity and resilience into day‑to‑day operations and long‑term risk management. The role leads the Business Continuity Steering Committee and provides visibility and insights to senior leaders.
Essential Duties
- Build, implement, and continuously strengthen the Terumo BCT Global Business Continuity Program in alignment with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and the Terumo Group Business Continuity Policy.
- Chair and lead the Business Continuity Steering Committee, engaging senior leaders in risk oversight, prioritization, and continuity‑related decision‑making.
- Prepare and deliver regular reports and dashboards for senior leadership outlining risk exposure, organizational readiness, and program gaps.
- Develop, refine, and standardize tools and templates for key business continuity elements, including business continuity plans, business impact analyses, risk assessment methods, tabletop exercises, and event simulations.
- Ensure tools and methodologies are scalable and consistently applied across our global network.
- Partner with functional stakeholders and global manufacturing operations to implement and sustain the Business Continuity Program:
- Developing, maintaining, and enhancing site‑level and functional BCPs.
- Conducting and documenting BIAs to identify critical processes, recovery priorities, and operational risk exposure.
- Collaborating with key stakeholders to define recovery objectives, including RTOs, MTPDs, and other continuity requirements.
- Supporting manufacturing sites in planning, facilitating, and documenting tabletop exercises and simulations with key extended stakeholders such as suppliers, customers, and community partners.
- Assessing preparedness and business continuity plan effectiveness, tracking corrective actions, and driving continuous improvement based on exercise outcomes and lessons learned.
- Designing and delivering role‑based business continuity training and promoting awareness of roles, responsibilities, and best practices across the organization.
- Serving as the business continuity subject matter expert during regulatory inspections, internal audits, and customer assessments, synthesizing continuity efforts into a clear, cohesive narrative.
- Acting as the primary coordination point for corporate, customer, and other stakeholder business continuity and resilience‑related requests, ensuring timely and accurate responses within designated timeframes.
- Providing guidance or direction to site or functional continuity coordinators as needed.
- Supporting crisis management and incident response activities during major disruptions.
- This role requires collaboration and coordination with resources from multiple functions and geographic regions, with meetings outside typical work hours and international travel.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
- Education : Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions.
- Experience : At least 8 years of total professional experience in a relevant environment; minimum 3 years in business continuity, operational resilience, risk management, or compliance.
- Experience in regulated manufacturing environments (medical device, biotech, pharmaceutical, or similar).
- Experience supporting audits, regulatory inspections, and customer assessments related to continuity and resilience preferred.
- Working knowledge of ISO 22301 required.
- Familiarity with FDA regulations and ISO 13485.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP) preferred.
- Other relevant certifications such as ABCP, AMBCI, MBCI, ISO 22301 Lead Implementer, or related certifications.
- An equivalent competency level obtained through a variation of these qualifications may be considered, with the ability/desire to obtain certification within a reasonable period upon hire.
Location & Travel
- Lakewood, Colorado or Remote.
- International travel required (up to 25%).
Physical Requirements
- Typical office environment: reading, speaking, hearing, close vision, bending, sitting, occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.
- When visiting manufacturing sites: use of personal protective equipment, gowning of clean room attire, standing and walking for extended periods, exposure to solvents used to bond plastics.

Target Pay Range
$120,200.00 to $150,200.00—Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
