Senior AI Risk Management Consultant

Location: San Antonio, TX or Charlotte, NC (Onsite/Hybrid) or Remote

Vaco is partnering with a leading financial services organization seeking a Senior AI Risk Management Consultant to support enterprise-wide AI governance, technology risk, compliance, and emerging technology initiatives.

This role is ideal for a seasoned Technology Risk, IT Audit, or GRC professional with hands-on experience assessing AI and Generative AI risks in highly regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead AI risk assessments and governance activities
• Review AI solutions, controls, and risk mitigation strategies
• Evaluate AI-related control effectiveness and compliance requirements
• Support audit, regulatory, and governance reporting efforts
• Contribute to AI policies, standards, and framework development
• Assess risks tied to AI agents, large language models, cloud AI platforms, and third-party AI solutions

What We're Looking For:

• 15+ years in Technology Risk, IT Audit, Cybersecurity, Compliance, GRC, or AI Risk Management
• Strong Second Line of Defense experience
• Expertise with AI governance frameworks such as NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001, and ISO 27001
• Experience with platforms including Microsoft Copilot, OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, Amazon Q, or similar technologies
• Certifications such as CRISC, CISSP, CISM, CIPP, FAIR, or related credentials preferred
