IT Business AnalystOur IT Business Analyst is a very valuable part of our team. This position is responsible for leading activities in planning, gathering, defining, analyzing, categorizing and documenting requirements for work process automation, continuous improvement programs, new functionality and enhancements to existing systems in support of our Plan-To-Perform business process workstream.Location: Winchester, VirginiaDuties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for leading activities in planning, gathering, defining, analyzing, categorizing and documenting business, user and functional requirements for work process automation, continuous improvement programs, new functionality and enhancements to existing systemsExecutes project activities within the project management delivery workflow from project submission, through initiation, planning, execution, training, post-implementation support and project closeout. Liaises with internal and external business partners throughout the projectUses statistical methods and data mining techniques to analyze data and generate business trends and efficiency with master data sets.Models current and future state of business systems and processes to identify and analyze gaps, redundancies and problem areas.
Advises project managers on feasibility of enhancements and recommends solutions and process automation improvementsFacilitates requirements gathering sessions. Converts business requirements into appropriate system development lifecycle documents that meet corporate documentation standards and techniquesDevelops test plans and coordinates identification, development and documentation of test cases. Ensures there is traceability of test plans and test cases back to requirements and design specificationsCoordinates execution of test scripts; prioritizes, monitors and reports on status of problems to project team; and ensures problems are resolved in a timely manner.
May coach and lead testers in the development and/or execution of test scriptsCreates requirements plan and provides estimation of work for requirements analysis and documentation, testing, quality assurance and other responsibilities assigned as a Business AnalystIdentifies requirements risks, project risks and critical issues and conducts analysis to resolve or provide recommendation for resolutionParticipates in or facilitates project meetings, feasibility studies, and prioritization of technology service requests and initiatives with business partnersAdvises and supports business in preparation of procedural documentation based on systemsProvide second level support for application and information related requests supporting manufacturing and general business processesOther duties, as assignedPreferred Education, Experience, and Skills:Bachelors’ degree in Information Management, MIS, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field3+ years’ business analysis experiencePrevious experience in manufacturing (food preferred)Tools including Redzone, MES (Ignition/Wonderware)Previous experience with project best practices (ITIL, Agile)SQL database experiencePrevious experience with report writing in business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau)Physical Requirements:Must be able to sit for 7+ hours per shiftMust be able to walk for 1+ hours per shiftAdditional Skills (Blended resource):Operations Analyst SkillsResponsible for assisting the installation and configuration of end user mobile devices in support of the manufacturing environment.Maintain written operational, configuration or other procedures including end user documentation and trainingSupports the Project Manager in the provision of planning, plan realization and service delivery oversight.
