Primary tasks include defining business and application system requirements, defining 'as-is' and 'to-be' business processes, building and maintaining documentation for new or existing solutions, and building an in-depth knowledge of the firm's services and practices.ResponsibilitiesIn collaboration with team members: document requirements, define project scope and objectives, and formulate solutions consistent with our overall business strategies.Elicits and documents business processes and requirements using interviews, document analysis, team meetings, requirement workshops, use cases, and task and workflow analysis.Assists with the definition, implementation, and enforcement of company-wide methodologies and practices.Critically evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconciles conflicts, distills high-level information into its highest level of details, and distinguishes/transforms user requests to solutions that address the underlying true business needs.Proactively communicates and collaborates with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements to deliver methodology and project artifacts as needed: (functional requirements, use cases, proposed user interface designs, test scenarios, etc.)Understands and applies key process re-engineering/process improvement principles to enhance the value of technology-driven change.Drives and/or participates in application testing activities.Works independently with staff to define evaluate, refine, and develop concepts into meaningful, executable projects/solutions.Pursues primary projects under the direction of the Senior Business Analyst and CTO.Serves as a liaison between attorneys, executives, staff, and technical team members.Responsible for eliciting (and anticipating) the actual needs of stakeholders and working to facilitate communication among individuals and organizational units, serving as a "translator" in aligning the needs of business units with the capabilities delivered by information technologyEducation and Additional Requirements4+ years of professional experience in an operations or analyst role with a financial services firm, law firm, consulting firm or relevant related work experienceBS or BA or equivalent work experienceFamiliarity with reporting and relational database concepts (SQL)Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of attorneys, executives, managers, staff, and subject matter expertsEnthusiastic, positive, and entrepreneurial approach to complex technical challengesAbility to work in a self-directed capacity on assigned projects and strategic R&D initiativesWillingness to mentor team members and to be mentored by othersDesire to learn proprietary systems and administrative processesExcellent Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint)Strong work ethic and dedication to owning and resolving problemsExperience in JIRA is preferred.
