IT Business Analyst With ValuationsClient: Fortress Investment GroupPosition: IT Business Analyst With ValuationsLocation: NY Metro - 3 days in officeEmployment Type: ConsultantExperience: 8-10 years of financial services experienceMust have Valuations model experienceWe are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, intuitive, and curious IT business analyst who enjoys building applications from the ground up, who can troubleshoot issues, and who can support our business users on a day-to-day basis.As a member of the Valuations IT team, you will:Gain a deep understanding of the valuations team's responsibilities, business processes, and role within the broader firm, and how these translate into our IT processes, logic, data sources, and integrated application landscapeWork alongside the business to gather and synthesize requirements into clear, management-ready documents (Word, PowerPoint, Visio)Conduct vendor selection of valuations modeling and valuations aggregation toolsCoordinate with the software vendor to build and test product enhancements on implementationBecome an expert on the data, including how it is all interconnected, identifying whether a report looks correct, and helping developers connect data with joins to obtain the correct resultsAnalyze various financial data and work with the business team, IT team, and vendors to maintain data qualityPartner with other IT teams to build integrations (Operations IT, Reporting IT), maintain infrastructure (SEG), develop test cases/scenarios as a part of the SDLC process (DevOps, QA), and troubleshoot and correct day-to-day issues (L1 support, vendor)Have responsibility for the daily management of our existing valuations platform, including maintaining current operations and designing enhancements to accommodate Fortress' growing portfolioStay organized by updating the Azure Boards ticketing system and track status updates for our deliverablesIdentify areas of improvement and develop strategies to drive changeIndependently work in a fast-paced, high stakes environmentRequired Skills· 8+ years of relevant experience at a hedge fund, private equity shop, or other financial services firm; prior knowledge of financial products· Base understanding of valuations approaches, key terms (discount rates, cap rates, exit multiples), and common calculations (MV, MTM, PnL)· Experience with pricing tools, portfolio management tools, and/or valuations tools· Experience with large data sets, including analysis, transformations, and comparisons; familiarity with Power BI as a reporting tool is a plus· Experience with application design, including user interface design, report design, and integration design (APIs and batch)· Experience with SQL for data analysis (write/edit queries, analyze stored procs, build complex joins) is a plus· Experience with testing and all stages of the software development life cycle (SDLC)· Competency in the Microsoft Office suite, including Visio and advanced Excel; familiarity with business process modelling notation (BPMN) is a plus
