Business AnalystThe business analyst is responsible for facilitating the communication with IT staff and business customers to assist in the development, implementation, and support of a multi-year, multi-phase enhancement project.The business analyst will understand business objectives and problems and identify alternative solutions. Working with the PM, the incumbent will manage the process of taking business requirements and translating them into technical requirements that technologists will use to drive requirements to design. The incumbent will assist in quality assurance (QA) testing as releases are moved from system testing to QA testing environments, as well as being a liaison between the business user acceptance testers to report bugs back to the technical team.Essential Job Skills:Experience working on an application development team within a complex organization to collect, document, and disseminate business requirements utilizing industry standard techniques.Experience working on Agile and Waterfall development teamsStrong facilitation skills of small to large groups, including knowing when and how to regain group focus and use of the ‘parking lot’Ability to adjust presentation and facilitation approach suitable for executives and workersAbility to “tell the story” Using verbal and visual approachesHolistic knowledge of the overall requirements process, business and technicalPrior use of requirements tools and experience/demonstrated knowledge of how they may interact with applications used for management of bugs, issues, testing, design and developmentAbility to quickly understand business drivers, model existing processes and facilitate and guide business constituents to developing future state requirements, rather than solutionsAdaptability and flexibility when working with multiple clients with varying degrees of knowledge and ability/availability to participate.
