Onsite Part Time General

Part-time InstructorPart-time instructor responsibilities include teaching college-transfer Business Administration courses. Classes meet during the day and/or evening at multiple locations and online. Salary will commensurate with education.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesBe thoroughly prepared for each instructional responsibility including lecture and labMaintain an up-to-date syllabus for each courseConduct class and lab activities that are consistent with course objectivesWork with Area Coordinator to order needed equipment and suppliesBe available to students outside of class time through e-mail, telephone, and individual meetings as needed Accurately complete and submit all required reports and student records by stated deadlines and return all College materials and grade books at the end of each semesterRelated Responsibilities:Attend any required faculty, division, or departmental meetingsWork cooperatively with faculty, staff and students in a congenial and professional mannerComply with College policies and proceduresRemain current in the field of studyCommunicate effectivelyKnowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience RequirementsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the subject(s) taughtDemonstrated ability to plan and organize courses; use a variety of teaching and learning strategies.Demonstrated ability to ensure student success; utilize effective classroom management skills; and employ effective and appropriate evaluations of student performanceDemonstrated working knowledge of campus services for appropriate referralAbility to use instructional technology effectivelyDemonstrated understanding of and commitment to open-access community college philosophy, diversity and inclusion, and adult learning principlesAbility to work with a diverse populationDemonstrate an understanding of, and commitment to the unique nature and role of the College as a learning-centered institutionEducation and Experience Requirements:Master's degree in Business Administration preferred or master's degree in related field with 18 graduate hours in Business AdministrationDemonstrated experience in teaching in a community college setting is preferredEquity in Learning & Employment:Equity and belonging are crucial to who we are.

The employee may occasionally move up to 15 pounds.Scheduling: This is a part time position. Classes meet during the day and/or evening at the Statesville Campus, Mooresville Campus, and/or our Early College campuses.

Classes also taught online.Travel: Local travel is required, including between campus locations.All offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of a background check. Evidence of U.S. work authorization is required.
