Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, Human Services, Psychology or related field that includes coursework in the principles of social work, child development, counseling, and or psychology preferred.
• Minimum of two year's experience in family social services setting preferred, including knowledge and experience relating to community resources for referrals to families in need of services.
• The skill and willingness to deal with sensitive family situations in a non-threatening and professional manner.
• Ability to set and maintain professional boundaries with families.
• Knowledge of early childhood education and intervention preferred.
• Computer literacy and familiarity with various applications such as word processing, e-mail and internet.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have flexible schedule to accommodate family needs, may include some evening or weekend hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience (typically one year) working with ages 3-5.
• Knowledge of age appropriate behaviors and safety practices a plus.
• Knowledge of safety practices as they relate to pre-school children.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel; some overnight and with short notice.
