Mechanic
The Butts County School System is seeking applicants for a Mechanic in the Butts County School System's Transportation Department. Position Summary: Repairs, maintains and overhauls fleet of school buses. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Must possess or obtain a valid commercial drivers license (CDL) with P (Passenger) and S (School Bus) endorsements within 12 months of employment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs various repairs, maintenance and modifications to school buses. Examines vehicles and assesses the nature and extent of damage or malfunction. Plans work and repairs procedures. Prepares paperwork for all repairs. Transfers buses as needed. Maintains work area. Performs other duties as assigned. Details: Salary Schedule: Mechanics Work Days: 230 Daily Hours: 8 Pay Grade: Grade II/Step. At least three professional references are required for those applicants that have not previously worked with Butts County Schools.
