The Department of Surgery at the University of Utah Health is insearch of a full-time academic surgeon to specialize in burnsurgery and surgical critical care. Successful applicants should bequalified at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor. Thesuccessful candidate should possess excellent clinical skills andstrong interest in providing clinical education. An interest insupporting research as part of an academic group is desired, butthe position is primarily clinical. Board certification oreligibility in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care arerequired along with Burn specialty fellowship training. Theopportunity exists to focus on delivery of burn care in a stable,nationally- and internationally-recognized, ACS/ABA-verifiedregional adult and pediatric burn center. Our center provides acuteburn critical care, acute burn and soft tissue surgery and burnreconstructive surgery with high performance teams supporting allaspects of inpatient and outpatient burn care.

The University of Utah Hospital Burn Center currently admits350-400 patients yearly with 7,000+ clinic and TeleBurn visitsannually providing care for the Intermountain West. The Universityof Utah Department of Surgery also maintains ACGME-accreditedtraining programs in general surgery, surgical critical care, acutecare surgery and all surgical sub-specialties. More recently, wehave established an ABA Verified Burn Surgery Fellowship that is a1-year combined ACGME SCC/Burn surgery fellowship. A successfulcandidate will anticipate a robust clinical practice withopportunity to fulfill their interests in all aspects of aflourishing surgical career including access to Department ofSurgery research programs, Global Surgery infrastructure andinternational relationships, burn outreach and re-integrationprograms, and other areas of innovation in collaboration withfaculty across the University of Utah Health Sciencesinstitution.
