Building Maintenance SupervisorThe primary purpose of this position is to supervise all Building Maintenance Workers and others performing maintenance duties as it relates to performing preventative and reactive maintenance on designated building systems to ensure the safety, functionality, and comfort for staff, tenants, and the public. Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Superintendent, the Building Maintenance Supervisor has the authority to exercise considerable independent judgement and discretion as both a manager supervising staff and a professional with technical expertise to perform the position's daily tasks and responsibilities within department established policies and procedures. The Building Maintenance Supervisor directly supervises more than two employees.

Associate degree in construction, management, engineering, or a related field, preferred; and formal training, certification, or licensure in HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or other trade relating to building systems; and five years of experience in the maintenance and repair of structures and various building systems within those structures; and one year of lead experience (equivalent to the Building Maintenance Worker III) or similar experience outside of Sitka is preferred;
