Description
Our client, the U.S.'s largest commercial real estate services firm, has an exciting opportunity for a Building Engineer - HVAC / Refrigeration to support a multi-use commercial facility in Issaquah, WA . This 5-month contract role is ideal for a skilled facilities professional with strong HVAC and general building maintenance experience, including preventive maintenance, basic plumbing and electrical work, and refrigeration support. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, supporting day-to-day building operations, and maintaining a high level of professionalism in a client-facing environment. Schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm.
Job Description:
  • Perform preventive maintenance and general repairs on HVAC equipment and related building systems
  • Support day-to-day building operations across a 135,000 sq. ft., two-story multi-use office facility
  • Complete general maintenance tasks including moving furniture, ceiling tile repair, and routine facility upkeep
  • Perform basic plumbing and electrical work as needed to support facility operations
  • Maintain and service refrigeration units and freezers to ensure reliable operation
  • Assist with event setup and support workplace readiness for meetings and site activities
  • Conduct scheduled PMs and respond to building maintenance issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintain work orders, complete basic reporting, and communicate updates as needed
  • Support safe and efficient building operations while complying with all site safety protocols and applicable regulations
  • Work independently while coordinating with the Facilities Manager on priorities and site needs
Must Have Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of building engineering, HVAC, or commercial facilities maintenance experience
  • Strong HVAC troubleshooting and preventive maintenance experience
  • General maintenance experience in a commercial building environment
  • Basic plumbing and electrical experience
  • 06A License - required
  • Universal Refrigerant License - required
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage daily building maintenance responsibilities
Nice to Have Qualifications:
  • City of Seattle Refrigerant License - highly preferred
  • Experience supporting refrigeration systems and freezers
  • Additional advanced mechanical, electrical, or facilities-related technical skills
  • Strong research and problem-solving abilities
  • Trade school or technical training in HVAC, facilities maintenance, or a related field

Pay is $53.15-$58/hr based on experience. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision.
