PLC/Ignition TechnicianMantis Innovation provides managed facility services and turnkey program management with technology-enabled solutions that target the entire building footprint. We look at the entire facility—inside and out—and can impact 70% of what a building operator allocates critical budget dollars toward, including: strategic electricity and natural gas procurement, renewable energy, and demand response; climate impact reduction and reporting, net zero strategies, and sustainability planning; roofing, solar, HVAC assessment management, pavement, building envelope, data center optimization, and EV charging; lighting/LED retrofits, HVAC/mechanical systems, and BMS/BAS improvements and implementation.This role exists to build entry-level PLC/Ignition capability in the Umatilla, OR area to support Sabey data center projects and ongoing service work. It ensures projects stay on track by providing reliable field support while developing into an independent technician over time.OutcomesRamp into PLC/Ignition work within 90-120 days and contribute to active project tasksSupport senior technician on installation, startup, and troubleshooting with 90%+ task completion accuracy within first 60 daysComplete assigned work with < 5% rework or correction requiredTake ownership of defined task scopes independently within 4-6 monthsCompleted assigned work on schedule 95%+ of the time with no delays caused to project timelinesDemonstrate strong work ethic, reliability, and coachability in a field-based environmentResponsibilitiesExecute installation of control system components including wiring, panels, sensors, and devicesPerform point-to-point checkouts, calibration, and system validation in field environmentsExecute assigned commissioning and startup tasks in data center environmentsDiagnose basic hardware, wiring, and system issues and escalate when requiredComplete assigned work scopes accurately and within defined timelinesMaintain complete, accurate, and timely documentation of all work performed and test resultsRead and interpret control drawings and schematics to execute field workCoordinate directly with senior technicians, subcontractors, and project teams on-siteFollow all safety, site, and compliance requirements without exceptionBuild and demonstrate increasing proficiency in PLC/Ignition systems through hands-on executionMinimum QualificationsMechanical or electrical aptitudeWillingness and ability to learn PLC/Ignition systemsAbility to execute assigned work reliably in field-based environmentsWillingness to be located within driving distance of Umatilla and travel as requiredWorking Conditions/Physical RequirementsWork environment: Field-based across active construction sites and operational data center environmentsPhysical requirements:Standing, walking, climbing ladders, and working in mechanical spacesLifting tools and equipment (up to ~50 lbs.)Working in variable environmental conditions$90,000 - $120,000 a year The above pay range is Total Cash; a combination of base salary (dependent upon experience/Tech level) and additional bonus potential through internal programs (annual bonus, living expenses, profit sharing).Note: Employees are held accountable for all duties of this job.
