This position is housed at the Freeport West Center in Clearfield. The shifts for this position cover nighttime, weekends, and holidays.
(Promotions result in a 5% minimum increase)
GENERAL FUNCTION: Under the supervision of the division coordinator or his designee, the security monitor receives telephone calls, entering security requirements into the computer, and monitors the computers for security infractions.
REPRESENTATIVE ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Receives telephone calls requesting security arrangements for specified times. Enters times and requirements into computer.
2. Monitors energy/security system during assigned shift (Alarm rings for energy such as a rising temperature in a refrigerator/freezer, a boiler flame going out, a fire, unauthorized entry into a building or area, etc.
3. Responds to security alarm (Examines situation to be sure computers and security system are operating properly; contacts police or fire department, maintenance personnel, and/or responsible building personnel).
4. Monitors night traffic into district Freeport Center area. Opens and closes gates (electronically).
5. Uses radio or telephone to communicate with buses, maintenance, fire departments, etc.
6. Provides 24 hour hot line for emergencies throughout the district.
7. Prepares written incident report as required for incidents.
8. Informs director and/or superintendent of storm severity around district.
Educational Requirements:
1. High school graduation or equivalent education and/or experience.
Knowledge & Ability:
1. Must be able to operate computer.
2. Ability to communicate clearly.
3. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
Job-Related Experience:
1. Experience in law enforcement, fire department or security work preferred.
