Bridge Engineering Department ManagerWSP is looking for a Bridge Engineering Department Manager for our Kansas City office. This candidate will be involved in projects with our Transportation Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges. This role is an opportunity to grow a structural design team locally while being supported by an extensive regional and national practice.Your ImpactLead design, plan development tasks and perform structural analysis and design with a concentration on Kansas and Missouri highway structuresActively maintain project scope, design changes and project budget and schedule while assigned to projectsMentoring, training and development of staff and others performing similar workAbility to provide close coordination with others on the project as well as independent QC/QA reviewsVisiting clients for growing our business and long-term positioning and keeping these clients and other team members well informed of upcoming opportunitiesWork with marketing staff to oversee and lead technical proposals, including the development of leads, cultivating relationships with decision makers, and drafting compelling letters of interest.Representing WSP at targeted professional society meetings, including presenting at conferences as appropriate and approvedTrack and monitor structural staff utilization, coordinating with team leads and project managers to provide appropriate forecastsPerform mid-year reviews and year end performance reviews of staffOther duties as assignedWho You AreRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Structural or Civil EngineeringP.E.

registration in Kansas and/or Missouri and ability to acquire in other states15+ years' experience in Structural Engineering with an emphasis on bridgesStrong technical skills and background in bridge design, roadway, and KDOT/MoDOT design standardsAbility to demonstrate leadership experience – in a design team or personnel management role.Accustomed to working in a team environment on challenging projects and leading design teams in delivering high quality projects
