Position Purpose
This position is responsible for assisting in day-to-day operations of the farm in a safe and cost-effective way while training to independently manage a company farm.
Key Training Areas
- Participate in all scheduled training rotations and complete assigned learning objectives within each phase.
- Learn and apply company biosecurity, animal welfare, and safety standards in daily operations.
- Support farm operations by assisting with bird care, feeding, watering, and environmental control.
- Observe and perform hatchery processes including egg handling, incubation, hatching, and poult processing.
- Assist in monitoring flock health, environmental conditions, and performance data.
- Develop leadership and communication skills through collaboration with farm and hatchery staff.
- Observe and perform breeding activities such as egg collection, artificial insemination, and semen collection.
- Participate in maintenance, repairs, and facility operations.
- Maintain accurate training documentation and complete performance check‑ins.
- Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and respect toward colleagues at all times.

- Demonstrate basic proficiency in math and computer skills that are necessary.
- Demonstrate the ability to be a self‑starter without the need for constant supervision.

- Work with a variety of tools and equipment.
- Successfully work with live animals.
- Wash and disinfect turkey production facilities in a safe and organized manner.
- Run/review activity reports determining the progress and status in attaining objectives, conference with the Service Tech to revise objectives and plans following current conditions.
- Deliver supplies and equipment to various locations as needed.
- Develop alongside Management to lead, train, motivate, and mentor employees on the farm with the objective of building and maintaining a high-performing team to meet or exceed production goals.
- Perform the job duties while constantly moving and using hands, occasionally lifting objects while being exposed to dust, cold, humidity, heat, chemicals, and fumes.
- Present a positive and professional image of the company by exhibiting courtesy and professionalism in everything you do.
- Demonstrate a willingness to work varied schedules where some weekends will be required.

- If required to drive a company vehicle must pass MVR.
- Have the ability to push, bend, stoop, squat, pull and lift 50 lbs or more.
Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Does not own or operate around backyard poultry, foul, or swine operations off duty.
- Knowledge and/or experience of animal husbandry and welfare preferred.
- A valid North Carolina Driver’s License and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record if needed.
- Have the ability to push, bend, stoop, squat, pull and lift 50 lbs or more.
