Breast Surgeon

Sanford Health is seeking a fellowship-trained breast surgeon to join their integrated multi-specialty health system. This full-time position offers opportunities for teaching, research, and leadership within a robust, multidisciplinary breast program. The successful candidate will provide specialized surgical care for patients with benign and malignant breast diseases, working collaboratively within a comprehensive team.

• Join a group of 4 surgeons with expertise in breast surgery, HPB, Skin and Soft Tissue, and general oncology surgery
• Patient base is estimated at 800,000
• Accredited program through the Commission on Cancer, National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers, and the National Quality Measures for Breast Centers
• Fully integrated multidisciplinary Breast Program featuring RN Nurse Navigators, Dedicated Breast Radiation Oncologists, Medical Oncologists, Surgical Oncologists, Breast Pathologists, Breast Radiologists, Tumor Registry, and Research Coordinators
• Robust research department participating in multiple national clinical trials, clinical research, and basic science research

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized surgical care to patients with benign and malignant breast diseases
• Conduct evaluation, diagnosis, surgical management, and ongoing follow-up for patients with breast cancer and other breast conditions
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team including medical oncology, radiation oncology, radiology, pathology, genetics, and supportive care
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered, and evidence-based care
• Opportunities for teaching, research, and leadership

Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. degree
• Successful completion of an accredited residency in general surgery or obstetrics & gynecology
• Fellowship training in breast surgical oncology or significant clinical experience in breast surgery
• Current medical license in each state of practice
• State Controlled Substance License (if required by State)
• Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances in each state of practice
• Board Certified in General Surgery by the American Board of General Surgery; or Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology or equivalent (American Osteopathic Board, Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada)
