Branch Skilled - Lead CNC Machinist

Lead CNC MachinistQPS Employment Group is hiring a Lead CNC Machinist for a company in Elkhorn, WI. This is a direct hire opportunity on 2nd or 3rd shift.Lead CNC Machinist Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Operate CNC machines, including tooling setup, insert changes, offsets, and deburring of finished partsManufacture components according to engineering prints, specifications, and GD&T requirementsPerform quality assurance inspections using precision measurement tools to confirm part complianceAccurately document quality data and production metrics for reporting and improvement purposesSupport preventive maintenance through routine machine checks and communication with maintenance staffReview production schedules, prioritize tasks, and prepare equipment and materials for daily operationsPerform light corrective maintenance on CNC machines as neededSafely handle and move materials, including heavy components, using overhead cranes and hoistsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company policiesParticipate in process improvement initiatives, including fixturing and tooling developmentLead CNC Machinist Requirements:Skilled in Mazatrol and G-code programming, including interpretation, editing, and troubleshootingStrong ability to interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and specificationsExperienced in the use of micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, and height standsFamiliar with SPC principles and ISO quality systems to ensure standards are consistently metMinimum 5 years of experience operating and setting up CNC lathes and mills, including horizontal and vertical machining centers (preferred)Strong communication skills with the ability to read, write, and document in EnglishProficient in recording production and quality data accurately and consistentlyAbility to safely handle and load parts over 500 pounds using overhead cranes or hoistsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds regularlyAble to perform repetitive tasks with consistency and attention to detailMaintain safety, cleanliness, and organization in the workplacePerform in a manufacturing environment and adhere to company safety standards and policiesIND022 QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
