Job Description

As branch manager, you will have full responsibility for the overall performance of the Sheffield branch. You will be accountable for the commercial success, operational efficiency, financial performance, customer satisfaction and people management of the branch, ensuring it consistently delivers against company objectives and maintains the highest standards. This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring someone who can inspire their team whilst maintaining complete ownership of branch performance. Reporting directly to the Senior Leadership Team, you will be expected to lead by example and continually seek opportunities to improve performance, customer experience and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial leadership
  • Take full ownership of the branch profit and loss account
  • Deliver and exceed agreed sales, margin and profitability targets
  • Develop and execute local business development strategies to increase market share
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities within the region
  • Grow existing customer accounts through exceptional service and relationship management
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends to identify commercial opportunities
  • Drive sales activity across the branch and ensure individual team members meet agreed KPIs

Requirements & Skills

  • Minimum three years' experience managing a successful wholesale branch
  • Background within electrical wholesale, renewable energy, solar PV or a closely related industry
  • Proven experience managing a profit and loss (P&L) account
  • Strong commercial awareness and business development experience
  • Demonstrable success in achieving sales and profitability targets
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills
  • Experience managing warehouse and operational functions
  • Experience managing stock control and inventory
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Knowledge of solar PV, battery storage, EV charging and renewable technologies (desirable)
  • Experience using ERP and CRM systems (desirable)
  • Experience implementing operational improvements and lean working practices (desirable)
