Position Overview
Mechanics Bank is seeking a full‑time Branch Manager for our Downey Branch. The Branch Manager will oversee daily operations, drive sales performance, ensure compliance, and build community relationships.
Responsibilities
- Manage the retail branch, ensuring financial success, customer satisfaction, and staff development.
- Provide executive direction and dotted line supervision to operations staff, maintaining compliance and service quality.
- Develop and implement strategies to meet financial objectives and achieve production and service goals.
- Lead the branch team through daily huddles, regular meetings, coaching, and example‑based leadership.
- Conduct human resource tasks, including hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, salary increases, training, and disciplinary actions.
- Build and maintain relationships with community leaders and business partners to promote the bank’s presence.
- Create and execute strategic plans covering business development, customer retention, employee development, succession planning, branch efficiency, and operational soundness.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, prepare reports, and recommend improvements.
- Prepare budgets and forecasts for the branch.
- Foster a customer‑centric culture, address inquiries and escalations, and enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
- Ensure the branch follows all banking policies, procedures, compliance training, and standards.
- Support operations with workforce planning for optimal efficiency.
- Participate in community activities, including CRA initiatives.
- Travel 0‑10% as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
- Minimum 5years of banking experience, emphasizing sales.
- Minimum 3‑4years of management experience.
- Notary license preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to manage and lead people.
- Thorough knowledge of standard banking services, products, internal operating policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge of small‑business and consumer credit principles and practices.
- Ability to motivate employees to deliver excellent customer service and achieve results.
- Familiarity with applicable federal and state banking regulations.
- Physical requirements: sit, talk, hear, use hands; stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 10pounds.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range: $72,000 – $115,000 annually. Eligible for the Retail Incentive Plan.
