Summary Of Job Responsibilities
Responsible for efficient, effective management of a full-service Branch office, ensuring that established policies and procedures are followed. Delegating a part of the day-to‑day operations to the Assistant Branch Manager enables availability for making loans and business calls, and representing the bank at civic and service club functions.
- Reviews job performance and, when necessary, disciplines branch personnel. Conducts regular meetings to keep staff informed, resolve problems, and provide training.
- Processes and approves consumer direct loans and indemnifying mortgages.
- Achieves complete familiarity with the Bank's deposit and loan policies and guidelines.
- Conducts business development calls to existing and potential customers; joins area service clubs and organizations and represents the Bank at functions and meetings.
- Ensures all security procedures are strictly followed.
- Is accountable for complying with the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti‑Money Laundering regulations, bank policies, and procedures.
- Conducts weekly staff meetings for training and coaching employees to direct their job performance toward attainment of established goals.
Other Essential Job Functions
- Responsible for the general maintenance of the Branch, ensuring walkways are clear of ice and snow for safety and security.
- Performs various duties of a general Bank Officer.
- Ensures the Branch balances all transactions at the close of each business day.
- Helps Tellers resolve balancing problems and authorizes over/short adjustments.
- Ensures the automated teller machines are serviced and operational during business hours and are balanced each day.
- Responds to security alarms.
- Participates in interviewing and hiring the best qualified employees.
- Obtains a thorough knowledge of Branch and lending operations to coordinate daily functioning and resolve employee and customer problems.
Skills And Abilities Required
- The ability to speak, read, and write English; count currency; and perform loan calculations.
- The ability to proficiently operate a personal computer.
Minimum Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of management experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in a sales and/or financial environment.
- Lending experience preferred.
Working Conditions
- Generally good; some exposure to adverse conditions when making business development calls, such as stair climbing.
- Exposed to potentially hazardous conditions (i.e., robbery). Receives detailed instructions concerning procedures to be followed during a robbery.
