The Branch Manager is the frontline leader for the branch team and sets the tone to ensure our branch associates are eager to assist our customers, delivering on our promise of providing unparalleled customer service while developing our associates and executing UMB’s retail strategy. The Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the branch and can also perform teller transactions and a variety of other banker functions.
Responsibilities
- Coach associates on performance, including proactive sales conversations, operational items, and customer interactions.
- Provide guidance on handling complex account maintenance and resolving customer escalations.
- Collaborate with internal partners such as small business officers, mortgage officers, private wealth managers, and others.
- Participate in continuous education and training to meet individual sales performance and operational goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or comparable college education and/or business experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership, associate development, or management experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of banking/financial services experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- NMLS registration or the willingness to obtain registration within 90 days.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to work branch hours, including weekends and occasional evenings.
Compensation
- California, Washington D.C., New Jersey, and New York: $62,310 – $90,760
- Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin: $56,890 – $83,080
- All other states: $51,480 – $75,410
The posted compensation range represents UMB’s good faith estimate for the starting pay, and actual compensation may vary by geographic location, experience level, and other job-related factors.
