Overview
Role: To direct the operations of a small to medium-sized remote bank facility, ensuring the branch meets organizational financial, operational, service, and growth plans.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Underwrites loans within authorized levels; reviews loan underwriting decisions of subordinate personnel (30%)
- Directs, develops, motivates, and disciplines branch personnel; administers performance evaluations and recommends appropriate personnel actions (15%)
- Monitors branch operating results relative to established objectives and ensures corrective actions for unsatisfactory conditions (15%)
- Maintains communications with main office; prepares and submits standard reports; attends scheduled management meetings (10%)
- Represents the branch in relationships with customers, business, community and civic organizations, suppliers, other financial institutions, and similar groups (10%)
- Controls past due and charged-off accounts for the branch (5%)
- Monitors all branch activities to ensure compliance with bank policies and procedures (5%)
- May serve as backup to customer service representative (5%)
- Performs other related duties as assigned (5%)

- To comply with the bank's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics
- To meet or exceed annual budgeted operating and growth plan; maintain/improve the financial stability of the branch
- To maintain the confidentiality of customer and other sensitive information
- To be punctual and have regular attendance
- To maintain and develop a qualified staff to meet customer needs
- To keep management informed regarding key operating issues
- To provide friendly, prompt, professional, and accurate service and support
- To have sufficient familiarity with bank products and services to discuss them intelligently with customers and make appropriate recommendations
- To develop the skills and knowledge of department/branch staff; conduct performance reviews and foster development
- To acquire and maintain working knowledge of regulations and bank procedures; comply with Bank Secrecy Act and other laws
- To develop and maintain community business partner relationships
- To complete required training and undertake additional training to increase knowledge and productivity
- To develop and maintain a positive and productive working relationship with department/branch staff
Knowledge and Skills
- Experience: Five to eight years of similar or related experience
- Education: (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., IT certifications in lieu of a degree)
- Interpersonal Skills: Work involves extensive personal contact; ability to motivate, influence, and train others; foster sound relationships with external entities
- Other Skills:
- Operate a 10-key calculator, typewriter, and computer keyboard
- Good communication skills
- Physical Requirements: Frequent movement within office; constant use of computer and office equipment
- Work Environment: Professional office environment; may require travel to branches; routine use of standard office equipment
