Responsibilities
- Directly manage day‑to‑day branch retail operations including safety, retail sales, warehousing and distribution; lead and manage a team consisting of Counter Sales, Warehouse, Drivers and Customer Service employees.
- Assist with development and execution of marketing plans to support key market segments in collaboration with Sales and Operations teams and outside vendors.
- Coordinate sales promotion activities, merchandising, displays and opportunities for Airgas‑wide conversions; manage inside sales, sales growth and sales margins.
- Collaborate with outside sales to ensure order accuracy and proper scheduling of customer deliveries by Airgas trucks.
- Manage branch inventory, daily hard goods inventory cycle counts and maintain showroom and warehouse appearance.
- Handle all hard goods receiving and dynamic deployment (hard goods inter‑branch orders) for timely completion.
- Lead and manage annual/bi‑annual physical hard goods inventories.
- Monitor SAP reports daily (open order/delivery, billing, delivery block, open PO) and perform daily cash reconciliation (DCR), addressing issues prior to deposit.
- Oversee employee training in SOPs and safety regulations; partner with hardware vendors to schedule monthly vendor product training.
- Manage branch operating expenses including overtime and office supplies; work with corporate accounts receivable to manage branch credits and collections.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in sales and/or distribution of gases and welding supplies or similar industrial products.
- Minimum 2 years of prior demonstrated management or leadership experience.
- Demonstrated planning skills: identify requirements, allocate and effectively use information, personnel, time and other resources; establish appropriate courses of action; develop evaluation criteria and tracking systems; specify objectives, schedules and priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Prior SAP experience preferred.
