Branch Manager – Fond du Lac, WI

We are seeking a Branch Manager to oversee daily store operations, drive sales and margin goals, and ensure excellent customer service. The role involves managing inventory, processing financial transactions, training associates, and maintaining safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional customer service for all internal and external customers and call‑in product, pricing, and technical inquiries.
  • Support the outside sales team in nurturing existing client relationships and welcoming new business opportunities.
  • Support timely processing of financial transactions, including cash reports, charge tickets, coding, costing, pricing, daily cash summaries, and bank deposits.
  • Maintain accuracy of back order, open order, and purchase order reports.
  • Cultivate appropriate cylinder and hard goods inventory levels for the branch.
  • Facilitate and lead training for inside sales associates on product knowledge, company policies, processes, procedures, and safety.
  • Conduct periodic performance reviews for branch associates.
  • Act as a bridge between employees and management, providing performance mentorship and guidance in collaboration with Human Resources and senior management.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven managerial experience in a customer‑facing environment with demonstrated expertise in P&L management and KPIs.
  • People‑leadership experience with coaching, mentoring, and team development.
  • Skill in fostering alignment within complex customer relationships and guiding supply‑chain operations.
  • Background supporting and leading teams in retail or industrial distribution.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and occasionally up to 125 lbs with material‑handling equipment.
  • Proficient computer skills and interest in learning new digital tools; ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Self‑motivated, focused on contributing to team success.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 5+ years of sales experience with a track record in the welding industry.
  • Experience with inventory cultivation and vendor relationship support.
  • Computer experience or basic knowledge of SAP.
