The Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the branch, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery to credit union members. This role ensures branch goals align with the strategic direction of the credit union. The Branch Manager leads, trains, and supports branch staff, enforces compliance with credit union policies and procedures, and drives performance through leadership and member-focused service.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise daily operations of the branch including teller, member services, and lending activities.
  • Lead and manage a team of employees including Tellers and Member Services Representatives.
  • Monitor branch performance metrics and achieve established sales and service goals.
  • Provide guidance, training, performance feedback, and disciplinary support as needed.
  • Ensure member satisfaction through exceptional service and problem resolution.
  • Promote and cross-sell credit union products and services to members.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of all branch systems, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Authorize and review overrides, approvals, check holds, and large cash transactions.
  • Oversee cash vault balancing, branch security, and compliance with dual control procedures.
  • Coordinate staff scheduling and manage time-off approvals.
  • Ensure proper handling and escalation of member complaints or account issues.
  • Review and approve loan applications within designated lending authority.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of credit union products, services, rates, and promotions.
  • Participate in community outreach to promote membership growth and awareness.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Act as a liaison between branch staff and senior management.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by executive leadership or in response to operational needs.
  • Serve as acting manager for other branches as needed.
  • Community involvement and networking activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a financial institution, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Solid understanding of financial products, services, and credit union operations.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of meeting performance goals.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and core banking software.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
