This individual will be responsible for ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance across bookkeeping and payroll functions, helping to maintain the financial health and integrity of the business as it continues to scale.This is a hands-on role that requires both precision and adaptability. You will be working closely with leadership, HR, and operations teams to ensure employees are paid correctly and on time, while also maintaining clean, accurate financial records across multiple entities and locations.
The role can be based in either our Toms River, NJ office or our Beachwood, OH office, depending on experience and overall fit. The ideal candidate thrives in a structured but fast-evolving environment and is comfortable being a key operational support pillar within a growing organization.ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including accounts payable and accounts receivableProcess payroll accurately and on schedule, ensuring compliance with multi-state requirementsMaintain and reconcile general ledger accounts across multiple entitiesTrack employee hours, payroll adjustments, bonuses, reimbursements, and deductionsSupport month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and reportingPrepare and distribute financial reports for leadership and operational decision-makingMonitor financial data for discrepancies and resolve issues proactivelyEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulationsCollaborate with HR and operations teams to ensure accurate employee records and payroll updatesAssist with audits by organizing documentation and supporting financial reviewsMaintain strict confidentiality and accuracy in all financial and employee-related dataQualifications3+ years of experience in bookkeeping, payroll, or a combined finance support roleStrong understanding of payroll processing, accounting principles, and reconciliationsExperience working in multi-location or multi-entity environments strongly preferredProficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks or similar systems)High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational disciplineAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with non-finance teamsWorking knowledge of payroll tax and compliance requirementsAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, but not required with equivalent experienceCompensation$65,000 – $90,000 annual salary, depending on experience and qualificationsOpportunity to work from either Toms River, NJ or Beachwood, OH officeExposure to multi-state payroll and scaling financial operationsDirect impact role within a rapidly expanding organizationLong-term growth potential as finance and operations infrastructure expands
