Part-Time Bookkeeper OpportunityRobert Half is partnering with a Henderson-based company to identify a Part-Time Bookkeeper who can serve as a trusted accounting resource within a small business environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a Bookkeeper who enjoys working independently, solving problems, and supporting a team where employees wear multiple hats to keep the business moving forward.The organization operates with a lean structure, and this individual will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing accounts receivable activities, assisting with month-end close, and providing guidance on day-to-day accounting matters. The ideal candidate is comfortable stepping into existing processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and helping management navigate accounting questions with confidence.
Additional duties will consist of working with the GM on specific reporting and analysis. Data will be extracted from QuickBooks Online and data will be manipulated in Microsoft Excel. This position offers a flexible schedule of approximately 16 hours per week (2 days per week/ 8 hours a day) and can be performed primarily remotely, with occasional visits to the Henderson office as needed.Primary Responsibilities of the BookkeeperMaintain and oversee accounting activities within QuickBooks OnlineAssist with month-end and year-end close processesReview, reconcile, and correct accounting transactions as neededGenerate customer invoices and manage billing activitiesRecord customer payments, including checks and ACH transactionsMonitor accounts receivable and perform collections follow-upReconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and other balance sheet accountsRecord and reconcile online sales transactionsPrepare weekly and monthly sales reportsAssist with sales tax reporting and filing requirementsProvide financial and operational reporting to managementServe as a knowledgeable accounting resource for leadership and office staffSupport ongoing process improvements and accounting clean-up effortsPerform additional bookkeeping and accounting duties as neededPreferred QualificationsExperience with Avalara and AvaTaxKnowledge of sales tax reporting and remittanceCredit card processing and reconciliations experienceExperience supporting small or privately held businessesMulti-state accounting experienceExperience cleaning up historical transactions and correcting accounting discrepanciesFamiliarity with web-based sales transactions and payment gatewaysThe ideal Bookkeeper will be supporting a growing business.
