Onsite Full Time Administrative and Support Services
The HT Group is seeking a Bookkeeper for a client located in Port Arthur. The ideal candidate will have strong QuickBooks experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Previous bookkeeping experience in the construction industry is preferred.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Compensation: $18-$23hr, depending on experience, with higher rate flexibility for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily bookkeeping functions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Maintain accurate general ledger records and perform bank and account reconciliations
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures and ensure financial records are accurate and up to date
  • Prepare financial statements, reports, and other financial documentation as needed
  • Assist with payroll processing through ADP when necessary
  • Coordinate with management and external accounting professionals to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Maintain organized financial records and assist with additional accounting and administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping or related accounting experience required
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks required
  • Experience with ADP payroll software is a plus
  • Strong understanding of AP/AR, general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end closing processes
  • Previous construction industry accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Must be dependable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
