Anderson's Bookfair Company provides book fairs for elementary, middle, and high schools.
Bookfair Driver
Responsibilities:
* Drive box truck with lift gate.
* Pickup and deliveries require the loading and unloading of company trucks at both warehouse and schools, using all safety procedures during the process.
* Deliver/pickup into the designated site for the book fair.
* Load and unload trucks with forklift, use forklift to move pallets to and from warehouse racking.
* Keep vehicle clean and refueled.
* Drivers return home on the same day and travel in city and suburban areas.
Basic Qualifications:
* Valid Illinois Class C license or ability to obtain a Class C license.
* Must be able to pass required Department of Transportation (DOT) physical.
* Final candidates must complete background check.
Skills and Experience:
* Ability to drive box truck.
* Ability to load and unload lift gate.
* Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and push, pull, lift, and handle rolling cases weighing more than 350 pounds on a regular basis.
* Ability to become certified to operate forklift independently without direct supervision.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work with a flexible schedule.
Job Type:
* Part-Time Seasonal (great supplemental income during retirement or parents reentering workforce).
* Hours vary week-to-week, approximately 16-32 hours per week during fall and spring seasons.
* Must have availability during Monday through Friday workweek between the hours of 7am and 6pm (this position does not require weekend availability).
* No work from late-December through mid-January and during summer months.
* September 2026 anticipated start date.
* Rate of pay: $25/hr.
