Boiler Operator American Hardwood Industries (AHI), a member of The Baillie Group, is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Boiler Operator to join our team in Waynesboro, VA. This is a full-time opportunity with a world-class hardwood lumber manufacturer.

The Boiler Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and monitoring of boiler systems and related equipment to support plant operations. Successful candidates are mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe working environment.Why Join Us?Full-Time, Direct Hire PositionMinimum - Anticipated Maximum Salary: $18 - $20/hour*Comprehensive Benefits Package Including Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance401(k)Paid Time Off and HolidaysBoiler Operator Responsibilities:Operate, monitor, and maintain boilers, kilns, and related systems to ensure efficient plant operationsPerform routine inspections of boiler equipment, pumps, valves, motors, and piping systemsMonitor gauges, controls, and instrumentation to ensure systems are operating within established parametersConduct preventative maintenance and minor repairs on boiler and utility equipmentTroubleshoot mechanical and operational issues and communicate concerns promptlyMaintain accurate operational logs and maintenance recordsEnsure compliance with all company safety procedures and environmental regulationsAssist with fuel handling and material movement as neededCoordinate with maintenance and production teams to minimize downtimeMaintain housekeeping standards in boiler and utility areasQualifications:High school diploma or GED requiredPrevious boiler operation, industrial maintenance, or manufacturing experience preferredBasic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsAbility to read gauges, meters, and technical documentationStrong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safetyAbility to work independently and as part of a teamWillingness to work flexible schedules, including overtime or weekends as neededAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and work in industrial environments with varying temperaturesAHI is proud to be part of The Baillie Group, one of the largest hardwood lumber manufacturers and distributors in North America.
