Body Radiologist
Sutter Medical Group (SMG) is seeking a Physician – Body Radiologist to join an established Body Imaging team in Sacramento, California. This role involves a mix of high-end body imaging and general diagnostic radiology, with opportunities for additional income through optional flex shifts. Practice Info
- Imaging Work Mix: ~70% high-end body imaging (CT/MRI/advanced cross-sectional) and ~30% general diagnostic radiology
- Coverage Model: Primarily SMCS or SRMC; location varies by clinician residence
- Remote Reading: 1–2 remote shifts/week; all STAT shifts are remote
- Workflow & Tools: Visage PACS, EPIC EMR, Barco monitors, home setup included, AI-Doc triage tools, RADai, PowerScribe, REIT reading room assistants, DynaCAD, TeraRecon
- Subspecialty-structured radiology group with advanced practice technology
Responsibilities
- Perform ~70% high-end body imaging (CT/MRI/advanced cross-sectional) and ~30% general diagnostic radiology
- Execute core fluoroscopic procedures (HSGs, enemas, cystograms, diagnostic fluoro)
- Perform paracentesis, thoracentesis, and select biopsies for Davis/Auburn coverage
- Manage a daily volume of ~45 RVUs/day
- Participate in minimal phone/pager call (~once per month or less), with no onsite requirements
Compensation
- $700,000 Base compensation with opportunities to earn additional income through flex shifts
- $50k sign-on bonus (paid in 2 parts)

Shift & Schedule
- 179 shifts/yr (130 weekdays, 22 weekends, 27 evenings)
- Day shift: 8am - 6pm
- Evening shift: 12pm - 10pm
- Minimal phone/pager call (~once per month or less), no onsite requirements
- 4-day average work week
- Holidays are shared equitably
- Ability to work some shifts from home (Weekend, STAT, & Flex Shifts)
Requirements
- Board Certified/Eligible in Radiology by ABR
- Strong commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care and team-based practice
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to perform core fluoroscopic procedures and (if applicable) basic US-guided or CT-guided procedures at secondary sites
- Comfort working across multisite integrated radiology networks
- Valid California medical license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
