Plastics Blow Molding Process TechnicianCKS Packaging is currently looking for a plastics blow molding process technician to join our team in Mooresville, NC. The ideal candidate must possess a high mechanical aptitude and have the ability to work with hand tools, as well as, make repairs/adjustments on various types of equipment.What's in it for you?Stable, growing organization with opportunity for future advancement of qualified candidates if successfulCompetitive pay based on experience and qualificationsExcellent medical, dental, and vision benefits at modest employee contributionsDiscretionary bonus401k participation with company matching contributions upon completion of first 30 days of employmentRequirements/qualifications:Set up and start up blow molding machines (extrusion blow molding, preferred but not required)Perform mold and tooling changeovers on blow molding machines according to production schedulesMonitor machine performance, make process adjustments, and perform routine maintenanceTroubleshoot and resolve mechanical, process, and electrical issues on blow molding machines, conveyors, and related auxiliary equipment.Adjust PLC/HMI parameters and identify basic faults in control systems (with assistance from maintenance when needed).Perform routine and preventive maintenance on electrical components (sensors, heaters, switches, basic wiring).Operate machines and production equipment safely and in accordance with instructions.Troubleshoot machine, mold, and process-related issues to minimize downtime and scrap.Adjust and fine-tune process parameters including preform heating, blowing pressure, and mold cooling for optimal performanceAssist with material management including the processing of scrap and regrind producedPerform mold changes and assist with tooling installations and adjustments for new product runs.Perform minor maintenance functions as needed on machines and auxiliary equipmentKnowledge & skills requirements:Electrical systems knowledge/experience required.Strong understanding of HDPE processing characteristicsKnowledge of extrusion blow molding and one-step molding processes and equipmentKnowledge of Bekum or similar machinery and HDPE resin is preferred.Experience making adjustments to production equipment processes to change material distribution, weights, heights, and other physical properties/dimensions, parison, etc.Knowledge of mold change procedures (changeover team, setup tech, process tech, super tech) and steps/methods for line changesStrong mechanical aptitude and understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, and PLCs
