Key responsibilities include:Managing a team of blood bank technicians and ensuring adequate staffing levelsSupervising the processing, storage, and distribution of blood and blood productsImplementing and monitoring quality control procedures to maintain AABB accreditation standardsCollaborating with other healthcare professionals to coordinate blood transfusion services for patientsMaintaining inventory of blood products and ensuring proper stock levelsTraining staff on blood bank procedures and safety protocolsParticipating in departmental meetings and contributing to strategic planning initiativesRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field (Master's degree preferred)Certification as a Specialist in Blood Banking (SBB) strongly preferredMinimum of 1 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, with specific experience in blood banking1 years of supervisory or management experience preferredStrong knowledge of blood bank operations, including regulatory requirements (FDA, AABB, CAP)Excellent leadership and communication skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and make critical decisions under pressureProficiency in using laboratory information systems (LIS) and other relevant softwareInterested in applying?
