Blanchard Operator
Location: Addison, IL
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
Pay: $20 - $30 based on exp.
Requirements: Resume / Interview / Authorization to work in the US
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Blanchard Operator to set up and operate Blanchard grinding equipment while producing high-quality parts that meet production and dimensional specifications. This role is ideal for a skilled grinding professional who can read and interpret prints, determine tooling, feeds, and speeds, perform precise inspections, and work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Duties and responsibilities
* Always operate safely and within standard operating procedures.
* Perform set up; determine the tooling, feeds, speeds, etc.
* Operate the Blanchard machine safely while making good parts at rate. Notify manager of any safety, quality, machine or productivity issues immediately.
* Verify dimension of ground workpiece for conformance to specifications, using such measuring instruments as micrometers, dial indicators, and gauge blocks.
* Able to read and interpret drawings.
* Communicate effectively with other employees and managers as part of the Team.
* Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
* Experience as a Blanchard machine operator. Can read and interpret prints/drawings and design and implement a setup. Attention to detail in regard to print and processing requirements. Will periodically need to lift heavy objects.
* There is potential for overtime (OT) during the week (come in earlier/stay later) and weekends (Saturdays and Sundays). The ability and willingness to work OT and be flexible is a must.
* Must be honest and punctual. Arrive ready to work on time and not hiding bad parts.
* Good communication skills. Communicate effectively with teammates and complete all shop floor paperwork accurately, completely and neatly.
* Basic math skills; addition, subtraction and multiplication.
* Proficient in the use of analog micrometers and calipers.
* Will need to provide and wear steel or composite toe non-slip shoes. Uniforms are provided and cleaned.
