Work Hours:
40 hours/week; standard schedule 9:00 AM-5:00 PM, though 7:00 AM-3:00 PM is also acceptable.
Hiring Focus
The Hiring Manager is looking for a BIOS/Firmware Engineer with beginner to intermediate level experience . This is a backfill position supporting firmware, BIOS, and Linux kernel development/debugging for AI-related platform work.
Must-Have Skills
- BIOS/Firmware development and debugging
- Early Silicon Bring-up
- Emulation
- Linux OS / Linux Kernel debugging and implementation
- C programming
- Coreboot , EDK / EDK II
- Basic understanding of CPU and GPU architecture
- Experience with OEM platforms , including laptop, desktop, and PCIe slot design/platforms
- Knowledge of Pre-BIOS / boot firmware environments
- Familiarity with open-source Linux firmware debugging tools such as:
- JTAG
- GDB
- Firmware test/read tools
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Exposure to AI technologies (a plus)
- Candidates with prior experience at Intel, Acer, Toshiba, Asus , AMD or similar OEM/semiconductor companies are highly preferred.
Additional Notes
- Strong firmware/BIOS debugging and implementation experience is important.
- The role requires hands-on platform-level debugging across BIOS, firmware, Linux kernel, and hardware interfaces.
- This is an onsite role in Austin, TX with no remote option mentioned.
