Job Description
Provides complete & timely repair, calibration, and preventive maintenance of required equipment faster and more economically than outside vendors. Performs all duties efficiently and in compliance with regulatory agency requirements. Supports safe patient care and a safe environment.
Experience
- 4 years of experience in biomedical or electronics.
- 2 years of experience in a hospital environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- None.
Education
- Associate’s degree in Biomedical Technology or equivalent.
Certification Summary
- No professional certifications required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Detailed knowledge of standards, codes, and procedures regarding the safe and effective use of medical equipment.
- Proficiency in PC hardware/software applications and equipment database programs.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Detail oriented with strong follow‑through skills.
Job Responsibilities
- Diagnose problems, repair at circuit board level, and recalibrate equipment.
- Track, schedule, and complete preventive maintenance checks by due dates.
- Coordinate outside services, including service contracts, vendor, and ISO servicing.
- Perform safety and functional checks of all specified equipment and ensure proper testing before returning to service.
- Maintain ongoing active communications with clinicians regarding equipment status.
