Biomedical Engineering PositionEssential Job FunctionsPerforms all aspects of Biomedical Engineering with responsibilities for: Inspection, calibration, preventive maintenance, performance assurance, troubleshooting, repairs, overhaul, modification, installations, and documentation on the following equipment, but not limited to.Defibrillators, ECG Patient Monitors, Telemetry UnitsElectrocardiographs, Electrosurgical Units, External PacemakersGeneral Misc. Patient Care Equipment, Hypo/Hyperthermia Units, Infant IncubatorsInfant Warmers, Infusion Pumps, Isolated Power Systems, Oxygen AnalyzersPressure Transducers, Audiovisual Equipment, Blood WarmersCentrifuges, Electric Beds, Fetal MonitorsMedical Gas Alarms, Intermittent Suction Units, ThermometersLab Equipment, Misc. Dental Equipment, Misc.

Environmental Service EquipmentNerve Stimulators, Nutrition Pumps, Respiratory Equipment, Vital Signs MonitorsVarious other equipment--as assignedSupport services for equipment at Independence Health System Medcare unitsRepair other electronic/electrical hospital equipment which includes the following: Nurse Call systemsKnowledge of computer networking for medical device integration to the Independence Health EMR network is encouraged (but not required)Other duties as assignedCompetency and Experience (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)Required Qualifications/ExperienceAssociate Degree in Biomedical/Electrical/Computer/IT Information Technology.OR two (2) year trade school with valid electronic certification with three (3) years of electronic experience.Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment and knowledge of legal aspects in the Biomedical Engineering field.Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.Preferred Qualifications/ExperienceCertified by A.A.M.I.
