Position Overview
We are seeking a hands‑on Biomedical Engineer Scientist / Scientist / Engineer with experience in formulation development, biochemical products, powder processing, tableting, automated dispensing, and HTS plate preparation .
The role will focus on developing and scaling dry and liquid biochemical products in formats including tablets, sachets, vials, and 24-, 48-, 96-, and 384‑well plates for drug discovery and development workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize dry and liquid formulations , biochemical reagents, buffers, excipients, and screening materials.
- Develop tablet, mini‑tablet, sachet, vial, and HTS plate products.
- Operate/support tablet presses, powder blenders, solid/liquid dispensers, and plate‑handling equipment .
- Develop dispensing workflows for 24-, 48-, 96-, and 384‑well plates .
- Evaluate powder flow, blend uniformity, tablet properties, dosing accuracy, reconstitution, and plate uniformity.
- Perform analytical and stability testing using HPLC/UPLC, LC-MS, UV‑Vis, Karl Fischer, pH, conductivity, and dissolution techniques.
- Troubleshoot formulation, tableting, dispensing, evaporation, precipitation, and cross‑contamination issues.
- Develop specifications, batch records, protocols, plate maps, and technical documentation.
- Support scale‑up, technology transfer, packaging, and pilot manufacturing readiness .
Required Qualifications
- MS or PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Hands‑on experience in at least two of the following:
- Dry formulation
- Tableting
- Powder processing
- Automated dispensing
- HTS plate preparation
- Experience with 24-, 48-, 96-, or 384‑well plate workflows .
- Strong knowledge of formulation stability, powder properties, excipients, solvent compatibility, and moisture sensitivity .
- Experience designing and documenting formulation, analytical, process‑development, or stability studies .
- Ability to independently develop prototypes and translate them into scalable processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with pharmaceutical/biochemical formulations, dry‑plated compounds, DMSO solutions, or chemical libraries .
- Experience with laboratory automation, robotics, low‑volume dispensing, or plate‑sealing systems .
- Knowledge of HPLC/UPLC, LC-MS, Karl Fischer, dissolution, LIMS, or plate‑data management .
- Experience with DoE, QbD, scale‑up, technology transfer, GLP/GMP, or ICH stability principles .
Ideal Candidate:
A hands‑on scientist or engineer with strong formulation + tableting/powder processing + automated dispensing/HTS experience who can take products from development through testing and pilot readiness.
