Biologist

We are a national staffing firm and are currently seeking a Biologist for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Trumbull, CT, 06611.

Details of the position are as follows:

Job Description:

• Pay: $24.00- $26.50/hr to start.
• 1 year contract to start with the possibility of extension or conversion.
• Shift: part time- 32 hours a week, Monday- Friday, standard day shift.
• Position will mainly be responsible for performing standard microbiological testing, including preservative effectiveness, microbial limits, time kill kinetic studies, and in vivo testing, while supporting the North America Henkel Consumer Brands business.
• Responsibilities also include preparing large amounts of microbiological media, operating an autoclave, handling live microorganisms according to standard procedures, performing basic microbiological testing, washing dishes, and reporting results.
• Position will also be responsible for working independently after training, following laboratory procedures, and supporting daily microbiology laboratory activities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Experience with microbiology testing, such as gram staining, bacterial identification, or Environmental Monitoring testing is required.
• Experience with MS Office is required.
• Experience using an autoclave is preferred.
• Experience with media prep is required.
