This position can be remote or local.This is a position for someone who wants to apply their skills to directly help cancer patients. You will develop new applications that connect cancer tests with large databases and machine learning to improve cancer diagnosis and treatment. You will continue to grow and learn cutting edge skills around machine learning, high performance computing and databases.Tasks include:Analysis of large-scale NGS data setsProvide bioinformatics support to researchers involved in genomic projectsTroubleshoot and maintain bioinformatics pipelinesPreferred qualifications include:PhD.
degree with 2+ years (or MS degree with 5+ years) of working experience in bioinformaticsSolid computational skills and a deep understanding of NGS data and its analysisFamiliarity with git version-control workflowsExtensive experience in NGS, systems biology and analysis of large-scale genomics datasetsExtensive experience with scientific computing, R or Python preferredExperience with computational analysis, algorithm development, statistics, and machine learningStrong UNIX/LINUX expertise requiredExperience with NGS datasets and pipelines including pipeline testing, troubleshooting and optimizationExperience with cloud computing: AWS, Google CloudJob type: Full-time.
